Don't Be Afraid,
Be Ready--One individual, One family, One Community At A Time
The
threat of terrorism forces us to make a choice. We can be
afraid, or we can be ready. Today America's families
declare, "We will not be afraid; we will be
ready."
The Department of
Homeland Security's "Ready Campaign" seeks to help
American families be better prepared for even unlikely emergency
scenarios. While we cannot always predict an attack, there
are simple things you and your family can do to prepare for the
possible event of a terrorist incident.

information you need by:
Much of the information
being distributed is not new. FEMA's
"Are You Ready?" booklet has been available for a
decade, and has been updated in the last few months to account for
new realities. The American
Red Cross has long provided emergency and preparedness
information, even helping communities make emergency kits. For
the first time, though, Ready.Gov makes all the information
available in one place. DHS has provided answers to your most frequently
asked questions.
We Will
Prevail
We will prevail in this
war on terrorism because of the work of our professionals--the
military, the CIA and FBI, Customs, the TSA, the Border Patrol,
the CDC, our brave first responders. When the threat alert
level is stepped up, so is our readiness. You can count on
it. But whatever the threat level may be, you will know that
you did what you could to help keep yourself and your family safe
if you take the time to get prepared. The Ready Campaign
will help you, so you can then go about the important business of
being a family.
